You can tell at about 4500-5000 it's time for an oil change as she gets a bit rattley and sounds more like a sewing machine. BTW, drop the Cat off and its a piece of p!ss to swap the oil, 3 bolts, 2 clamps. My old Duke 2 is nearly the same with oil and she's still going after 63,000ks and a new piston and head gasket.

At the dealer, dropped oil, checked the filter. Oil qty was about 2.4-2.5L (manual says 2.8L capacity) and no obvious signs of coolant in oil, very minimal stress lines seen on oil filter.
